Two Bay Oak Frame Garages

Our two bay Oak frame garages are probably the most popular structure we build as they are such a flexible building.

We use a bay width (overall 3.1m) which is amongst the largest in the market to accommodate opening doors and the largest family vehicles and 4x4’s. We offer a choice of designs, with gable or catslide roofs together with depths either 5.2m or 6.0m. There is further choice on ridge height, 3.9m is far the most popular as it can mean planning permission is not required. The higher ridge of 4.7m can provide valuable extra storage space and gives the option to have loft space in the vaulted roof area.

An Oak log store is a very flexible addition to your Oak garage, being used either as the name suggests, a general store for garden equipment or as a lovely seating / veranda area for a gin and tonic after a hard day in the garden!

If none of our standard layouts are suitable, please call our office to discuss how we can adapt one of the layouts to suit your requirements.

Case Study in Two Bay Oak Garage design and build

Soon after moving in to their new home in Helmshore, Lancashire, this couple wanted to get their new Oak frame garage built, so that they could convert the existing brick garage into another room for the house.

The brief was simple, an Oak garage for two cars for daily use and a lockable side store for cycles & outdoor toys/games for their three children.

A couple of designs were suggested and they chose our standard ‘Beeston compact’ design garage with additional store. Garage 6.2m wide x 5.2m deep x 3.9m to ridge height. Additional store 1.5m x 5.2m.

With the design confirmed, contract placed and deposit paid we cracked on with the groundworks four weeks later. The concrete base was laid, then the dwarf brick walls, that we use on most of our garage buildings.

A few days later the Oak frame was delivered to site and erected the same day. Over the next few days the stud walls, ridge board and rafters were fitted. Then the weatherboard, waterproof membrane & battens to the roof were constructed, followed by the slate roof covering.

We don’t just build garages, we installed a lovely Oak five bar gate next to the garage, as closure to their garden and complete the project.

After a tidy up the garage was ready for use with the Range Rover Sport and Chrysler fitting nicely into the two open bays.

Mr & Mrs Perkins, Nantwich

"If, like me, you believe that you get what you pay for in life, then Cheshire Oak will not disappoint. The quality of the materials, organisation of the build and attention to detail are the best we have experienced from contractors. The finished article is a testimonial to their commitment to excellence. We used Cheshire Oak to supply the full turnkey solution, all the various tradesmen were very obliging and polite which is a small but important when dealing with clients on a prestige build. We have no hesitation in recommending Cheshire Oak Structures and already we are getting good feedback from friends and neighbours."

Mr & Mrs Clark, Cheshire

“Cheshire Oak Structures designed and constructed a two car garage for us. Our plot and site access were a bit of a challenge and Dean was very helpful in supporting our ideas. We also wanted a few changes to a ‘standard’ design, which Dean was helpful in discussing and implementing. We’re very happy with the finished result, and have had many people comment on how nice it looks.”

Mr. K Dutton & Mr N Harrison, Chester

"Having a garage which was bespoke to our needs and space available in the garden and driveway was much appreciated ie. no central post. Coming on site to check turnaround space and amend the design was commendable and meant we have a garage which meets our needs.”

Mr & Mrs Pugh, Corwen, Wales

Two Bay Beeston Garage

“We were delighted with all aspects of our Cheshire Oak Structures build.  From foundations to the roof excellent work was carried out by teams of very skilled, professional & charming craftsmen.

When we changed our minds about our design, Dean quickly and with good nature re-designed our plans.  It was really useful to be able to visit examples on the range in situ before we made our minds up about what we wanted.  We appreciate the time that Dean took to take us to these builds.”
